My name is Gerhard Wiese, and I have been hand-forging knives since 2016 — not as a hobby, but as a calling. What began with a wooden knife grinder I built myself, and a determination to learn the craft from the ground up, has grown into a pursuit of excellence in every blade I create.

The Journey

From the very beginning, I chose to do things the right way. I built my own tools, added equipment piece by piece, and invested years into mastering the art of bladesmithing. Today, I am an American Bladesmith Society apprentice, actively working toward my Guild and Journeyman membership — a rigorous standard that demands both technical skill and artistic integrity.

Every knife that leaves my workshop is made entirely by my own hands, using only the finest steels and materials available. No shortcuts. No compromises.

My Philosophy

At the heart of everything I do is my faith in Christ and His ways. This shapes not only how I live, but how I work — with honesty, integrity, and a commitment to doing things properly. When you hold a Gerhard Wiese knife, you hold something made with care, conviction, and purpose.

The Knives

Each blade is individually hand-forged, heat-treated, and finished to the highest standard. I work with premium steels like W2 high carbon steel, and pair them with exceptional natural handle materials to create knives that are as beautiful as they are functional. Whether you are a hunter, an outdoor enthusiast, or a collector of fine handcrafted tools, my knives are built to last a lifetime — and beyond.
